This is my own log to resolve font problem when we start up ROOT. (based on Scientific Linux 7.0)
The error message is one like following :
Couldn't find font "-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-*-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1",
trying "fixed". Please fix your system so helvetica can be found,
this font typically is in the rpm (or pkg equivalent) package
XFree86-[75,100]dpi-fonts or fonts-xorg-[75,100]dpi.
This error can be removed by installing the following font packages :
xorg-x11-fonts-ISO8859-1-100dpi-7.5-9.el7
xorg-x11-fonts-ISO8859-1-75dpi-7.5-9.el7
